Cooler Temperatures Arrive In ENC
Colder air returns to the area Wednesday with temperatures not expected to reach beyond upper 60s. Today’s temperatures were 11-14 degrees colder than 24 hours ago as a northeasterly flow on the southern portion of a high pressure center over Canada continues to usher in these cooler temperatures.
Weak winds and clear skies inland overnight should bring temperatures into the lower 40s with areas potentially dropping below 40 degrees. Breezy conditions along the coast will keep temperatures a little warmer than the inland sections with temperatures only dropping into the lower to mid 50s overnight.
High temperatures Wednesday will also be on the cooler side with temperatures maybe a degree or two warmer than Tuesday. Most areas will see highs in the low to mid 60s. Overnight temperatures will drop again, under similar conditions, into the mid to upper 40s inland with slightly warmer temperatures along the coast.
On Thursday, high temperatures will rise into the low 70s in response to southwesterly flow ahead of the next cold front which will pass through the area Friday morning. Models indicating that enough moisture could be available for chances of a shower or two as the front passes (around 30% chance of light rain possible across the area).
High temperatures should remain in the 70s throughout the weekend.
