Saturday Evening Forecast Update – August 29
Mostly sunny skies for Sunday as high temperatures across the area reach the upper 80s to low 90s. Some scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible this week with the best chance on Tuesday.
September marks the peak of hurricane season and right now we are watching two disturbances in the Tropical Atlantic that have a 30% and 40% chance of development. At the moment, neither disturbance is forecast to impact ENC during the upcoming week.
On Tuesday the forecast models show low pressure developing along a frontal boundary just offshore of NC/SC then lifting east-northeastward away from the area. Some tropical or extra-tropical formation possible from this low. Low to moderate rip current risks for early this upcoming week.
