NOAA/NCEP hourly CONUS RTMA approximately 2.5 km source grid. Display is regridded to 0.04° then sampled into EPSG:3857—not native-resolution pixels. All layers are analyzed fields, not station observations or forecasts; relative humidity is derived from analyzed temperature and dewpoint. Surface pressure is not sea-level pressure; wind direction indicates where wind comes from. Cloud ceiling is above ground level. Optional layers depend on NOAA availability. Time is independent of radar playback. Data over 180 minutes old are automatically withheld.

CPC outlooks off
Official NOAA Climate Prediction Center outlooks of above-, below-, or near-normal conditions. Shading indicates probability of a category, NOT specific temperatures, precipitation amounts, or chance of rain. Equal chances indicates no favored category. Outlooks may have different issuance schedules.

Official NOAA/WPC forecasts, not current radar observations. One WPC layer at a time, shared across all panels. Outlook categories, liquid-equivalent precipitation, impact severity and snow/ice exceedance probabilities are different measures.

At nationwide zoom: action/flood stages only. Zoom into a region to see other gauges. Forecast source is identified: GIS full-period maximum, or NWPS reported forecast category when GIS is unavailable. Select a point for stages, thresholds and forecast series.
Active WPC heavy-rainfall / flash-flood discussions only; expired discussions are not displayed.

Phase 1.9.47.41 — nine real satellite products with automatic local-cache checks while imagery is active. Six NASA GIBS products use the established server-side cache; NOAA water-vapor Bands 8/9/10 reuse the native verified archive. Only real scans animate; GOES-West native water vapor is not installed.
Actual NOAA GOES-19/18 GLM-L2-LCFA optical flash centroids from satellite, not surface lightning strikes. Each dot represents a flash centroid (not every event, and not a precise cloud-to-ground strike). Colors indicate recent versus older observations. The independent data publisher must be initialized and scheduled once on the server. Use the diagnostic link for missing-file, publisher and data-age status; old data is never shown as live.
Additional products not checked. Eight built-in products remain in the selector.
MRMS products off
Uses ENC Weather National Radar's existing NOAA/NCEP MRMS manifests and colored tiles; no additional processing. Independent of the Level III radar on/off control. Observation time is not synchronized to a Level III radar scan. Products load only when selected. Composite can animate up to seven published frames; lowest-altitude animates when multiple frames exist. Newly discovered products are added only if the existing National Radar catalog AND a current tile manifest confirm publication.
Native nationwide tile zoom: 3–7. At zoom 8–10 tiles are magnified, not higher resolution; beyond zoom 10 this layer is hidden. Unpublished or stale frames are withheld. Composite frames use a tighter freshness limit; lowest-altitude and specialty products are checked independently. Composite uses optional native zoom 8–9 tiles in ENC only when the selected frame advertises them.

NHC official track and cone above remain separate. Model lines are objective guidance, not the official forecast. Uses each model's own recent cycle. Select one cyclone in the Storm dropdown above when multiple systems are active. ATCF source: NOAA/NHC.
Sharp radar detail loads when paused at regional and local zoom levels (5–13); playback stays fast.

Map context: NOAA/GSHHG coastline outlines and a single city-name/state/county boundary layer sit above radar, on a label-free dark basemap; NWS and radar-site markers remain clickable. Scientific preview: Radar site marker colors show NWS Level II reception/operational status where checked (green current ≤12 min, yellow delayed 12–30 min, red offline or >30 min; gray unchecked/unavailable). This does not verify NOAA Level III product availability. Additional regional radar sites are selectable candidates pending per-site live verification; NOAA may not publish every Level III product for every site. N0Q, N0U, N0S, N0C, N0X, and N0K have passed live decoding at previously tested sites. All seven products have passed live header/radial rendering tests. History fills toward twelve distinct, NOAA-verified volumes in small two-volume requests, stopping early if the source runs out; more volumes can be loaded manually. Timeline runs left to right (oldest to newest), then loops to the oldest. Reusable in-browser image layers speed up repeat loops; bounded one-volume lookahead runs only during user-started playback. The Newest button can display incomplete scans. Synchronization requires decoded volume-start time, volume-scan number and elevation to match; it never labels publication time as scan time. When paused at radar zoom 5–13, the viewer requests a sharp gate-preserving crop for the current frame; very wide continental zooms retain the full-range image. During fast animation it keeps the proven lightweight full-range layer. The color palettes are preliminary. MRMS specialty overlays reuse the existing ENC Weather National Radar product manifests and published tiles; Level III radar processing remains separate.
