Cold Weekend In Store For ENC
This weekend is setting up to have the coldest temperatures of the season. On Wednesday and Thursday we will see temperatures close to average for this time of year. On Thursday, a dry cold front will cross the region. Strong, Arctic high pressure will be diving in from the north bringing very cold temperatures to the entire eastern US.
Here in ENC, temperatures on Thursday night will drop into the lower 30s. Friday morning’s temperature will be around 32F and will rise to only the low to mid 40s during the day. Friday night’s temperature will drop down to 29F before midnight meaning that would be considered the forecast low for the day. This falls 11 degrees shy of the record low for this day. Saturday’s low temperature (which will occur Saturday morning) will drop down to 23F which puts that 8 degrees shy of the record low for December 10. High temperatures both days will only reach the low to mid 40s.
Even though the temperatures don’t reach record levels, it will still be very cold this weekend. Temperatures for the beginning of the week will return back to more normal temperatures.
