Sunday Morning Update

rain

Rainfall should begin to fill in across ENC over the next couple of hours. Some counties south of 264 have already seen some rain this morning though amounts have ranged less than 0.10″. Temperatures remain in the lower 40s but I do expect these temperatures to rise throughout the day reaching the lower 50s for most areas.

There will be a break in the rain on Monday while the first shortwave trough exits off the coast. Rain returns to ENC on Tuesday as the next stronger shortwave trough slides up the mountain chain. This system will have more lift resulting is higher rainfall amounts over the east. The current models are showing a 1-2″ rainfall potential by the time the system exits.

The system races northeastward Tuesday and clears the area later Tuesday night. Wednesday will bring drier conditions.

More updates to come.
