Extremely hot temperatures are expected to occur across most of the Southeast which includes all of ENC. On Monday, temperatures are expected to creep into the upper 90s with the possibility of some areas reaching 100. Heat indices will reach 100-105 over most areas.

Tuesday will not provide any relief as temperatures reach and may exceed 100 over most of ENC. Heat indices will be a little higher with a 70% chance of reaching or exceeding 105. Unfortunately there will be no relief from summer-time afternoon thunderstorms.

Temperatures for the remainder of the week will trend lower just slightly as the chance for afternoon thunderstorms interfering with surface heating. Areas not impacted by these thunderstorms could see temperatures reach the upper 90s.

The upcoming weekend will bring more hot temperatures with highs reaching the mid 90s with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms.
