Brief Update On 94L

I have been keeping an eye on Invest 94L and just wanted to post a quick update.

The system is becoming a little more organized though still lacks a closed low-level circulation which could change in the next 24 hours or so. Sea surface temperatures favor strengthening and wind shear is on the light side. It still, however, will have to fight off dry air and increasing shear over the next couple of days. Forecast models do some some strengthening but not much. Right now, it looks as though it will be able to develop into a tropical depression but will have an uphill battle to become a tropical storm (which still could happen) over the next couple of days.

The chances for CONUS landfall at this point are very low. The ridge to its north will keep it on a mostly WNW track through the remainder of the week. Next weekend, a trough over the eastern US will begin to weaken the ridge and a more northerly turn will occur. Determining when and where it will turn is still somewhat uncertain so we will have to keep an eye on this system as we go through the week.

I will update as needed this week.
