Severe Weather Potential For Wednesday Night

The system producing severe weather across the central US will approach the area by Wednesday night. The severe potential to ENC will be low due to the later arrival time and the departure of strong instability hours prior to arrival. Storm type favors a linear structure ahead of the cold front and given the environmental shear and strong winds aloft the main threat from this line will be strong winds. Any bow segments that do develop along that line could potentially reach severe strength.

As of Tuesday night the SPC has northwestern sections of ENC in the slight category (yellow shaded) and the southeastern sections in marginal category (green shaded) for Wednesday (more specifically Wednesday night for ENC).

The line moves offshore early Thursday morning with clearing conditions moving into the area.

I will keep watching this storm tomorrow and will provide analysis of the threat tomorrow night.
