Hard Freeze Expected Tonight
…A HARD FREEZE EXPECTED TONIGHT…
Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 20s across much of
eastern North Carolina late tonight with lower 30s across the
Outer Banks. This hard freeze will kill or severely damage any
early growing or tender vegetation that is left unprotected. The
average last freeze is not until late March for most of the
region, however the warm late winter temperatures this season have
led to early blooming crops, plants and trees, making them
susceptible to freeze damage unless protected.
Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing across most of
eastern North Carolina again Sunday night.
