The Contentnea Creek Near Hookerton.

* At 9 AM Monday the stage was 19.7 feet. 
 
* Major flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast. 
 
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet. 
 
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 20.3 feet by 
after midnight tonight then begin falling. 
 
* Impact...At 20.0 feet...Low areas on the south side of Snow Hill 
start to flood. Several homes on the north side of the creek from 
Snow Hill to Hookerton will start to flood. Water up to the Highway 
188 (Highland Blvd) bridge in Grifton. Widespread flooding in 
Grifton and Tick Bite.
