Winter Weather Concerns For Friday?

Previous models have hinted at a chance of wintry precipitation Friday morning but chances have been extremely low. I kept the forecast precipitation-free during the week due to lack of strong enough evidence to sway my forecast. Latest model runs including the HRRR, now that the forecast time is close enough, shows there is still a slight chance of frozen precipitation inland during the morning hours. I must state that given low moisture levels chances of accumulating precipitation is almost nil.

Forecast soundings show surface temperatures below 32ºF during the morning hours but temperatures above the surface warm over 32ºF for a significant depth which would point to a freezing rain p-type. The good news, like I said above, there will not be enough moisture available for accumulation and travel conditions should remain good.

The most recent HRRR model shows scattered mixed precipitation possible across inland ENC.

Conditions become dry after noon as the moisture lifts away from the area.
