Severe Thunderstorm Warning

The National Weather Service in Newport has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Jones County in eastern North Carolina…
Lenoir County in eastern North Carolina…
Northwestern Craven County in eastern North Carolina…
Northwestern Onslow County in eastern North Carolina…
Duplin County in eastern North Carolina…

* Until 630 PM EST.

* At 556 PM EST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Walnut Creek to Beautancus to 7 miles west of
Harrells, moving east at 60 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Jacksonville, Kinston, Wallace, Warsaw, La Grange, Half Moon, Mount
Olive, Grifton, Phillips Crossroads, Kornegay, Rose Hill,
Richlands, Beulaville, Deep Run, Catherine Lake, Bowdens, Cypress
Creek, Beautancus, Comfort and Kenansville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

or large limbs downed, by calling the National Weather Service office
