* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Northern Craven County in eastern North Carolina…
Pitt County in eastern North Carolina…
Southwestern Martin County in eastern North Carolina…
Northwestern Beaufort County in eastern North Carolina…

* Until 745 PM EDT.

* At 710 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Ayden, moving
northeast at 55 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Greenville, Washington, Winterville, Ayden, Grifton, Stokes,
Robersonville, House, Shelmerdine, Calico, Pactolus, Black Jack,
Roundtree, Old Ford, East Carolina University, Pitt Greenville
Airport, Dowdy Ficklen Stadium, Grimesland, Simpson and
Gardnerville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Please send your reports of hail and/or wind damage, including trees
or large limbs downed, by calling the National Weather Service office
in Newport at 1-800-889-6889.
