Waters Recede, Some Evacuation Orders Removed

Area rivers are beginning to fall and some evacuation orders are beginning to be rescinded as these areas become safe for return.

CRAVEN COUNTY
Weyerhauser Road closed in both directions near New Bern
Highways 17 and 43 remain open.
Belltown Road near Biddle Road closed due to flooding.
Several secondary roads are impassable.
Willian Pearce Road near New Bern is closed in both directions due to flooding.
River Road near Vanceboro is closed in both directions.
Biddle Road near Cove City is closed in both directions due to flooding.

DUPLIN COUNTY
Highway 403 is closed in several places near Faison.
Highway 41/50 east of Wallace and near Wallace is closed.
Highway 50 south of Kenansville closed.
Many secondary roads are impassable.
Durwood Evans Road between NC 41/50 S and Joe Hop Williams Road is closed due to flooding.

GREENE COUNTY
NC 123 near Hookerton is closed in both directions.
Several secondary roads impassable.

JONES COUNTY
Highway 41 east, north of Trenton, is closed.
A few secondary roads are impassable.

LENOIR COUNTY:
US 258 between Will Baker Road and US 70 closed
NC 58 (Trenton Highway) closed from US 70 to Will Baker Road
NC 55 East closed in both directions near Kinston
US 70 closed between NC 58 South and US 258 North
US 70 in Kinston: Closed both directions
King Street bridge is closed.
West Vernon Avenue, from Hull Road to U.S. 70, is closed
Highway 11 remains open.
NC 11/55 from Heritage Street at the King Street Bridge to Ashland Drive closed
Highway 11/55 is closed near US 70.
Highway 55 before 903 is closed in Kinston.
Highway 58 is closed near Highway 41, just before the Trent River.
Highway 258 is closed south of US 70. The road is now open between Kinston & Snow Hill.
Highway 903 is closed near NC-55.

PITT COUNTY
Grimesland Bridge Road between Sticks Road and Grimesland closed
Pineridge Drive east of Greenville closed due to roadway failure
Highway 264 near Exit 75 is now open.
County Home Road is closed in both directions at Edwards Farm Road. A culvert under the road collapsed.
Spain Bridge Road is closed in both directions near Falkland
Highway 11 in Grifton — both northbound lanes open, 1 southbound lane closed
Highway 33, Mile Marker 49, in both directions near US-13 is closed both directions.
Highway 33 at Oxford Road is closed.
NC-222 near Falkland, near SR-1401
Old River Road at NC 222 is closed because of a culvert collapse.
Greene Street bridge over the Tar River remain closed
One southbound lane of the Memorial Drive bridge over the Tar is closed

INTERSTATES

I-95 CLOSED IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS DUE TO FLOODING
I-95 South closed between Exit 56 (US-301) and Exit 13 (I-74), in Cumberland and Robeson County.
I-95 North is closed between Exit 13 (US-74) and Exit 22 (US-301), in Robeson County.

To avoid congestion on the provided detour route, motorists entering North Carolina from Virginia on I-95 are encouraged to use the following alternate routes:
All southbound traffic from North Carolina/Virginia state line should travel south on I-95 to US-64 West
Once on US-64 West, travel west toward I-440 West
Once on I-440 West, motorists will travel to US-1 South
From US-1 South, motorists will continue to US-501 South in Aberdeen/Southern Pines
Continue on US-501 South through Aberdeen toward US-74 East
Motorists will then travel US-74 East to I-95 South

Motorists traveling on I-95 South from US-264 may use the following alternate route:
Travel south on I-95 to I-40 West
Once on I-40 West, travel west toward Sanford/US-1 South
Motorists will then travel US-1 South to US-501 South
Once on US-501 South, travel toward US-74 East
Motorists will then travel US-74 East to I-95 South

Motorists traveling southbound on I-95 from I-40 should use the following detour:
All southbound traffic will be required to exit off onto US-301 (Exit 56) and travel toward NC-162 West
Motorists will then travel NC-162 West toward US-401 South
Once on US-401 South, motorists will travel to US-74 East
Motorists will then travel US-74 East to I-95 South

Motorists traveling northbound on I-95 should use the following detour:
All northbound traffic will be required to exit onto US-74 West (Exit 13) and travel westbound towards Laurinburg
Once on US-74, motorists will then travel towards US-501 North
Once on US-501, motorists will then travel to US-1 North towards Sanford
Once on US-1, motorists will travel north to I-40 East until merging onto I-95

I-40 WEST OPEN NEAR NEWTON GROVE
I-40 West has reopened east of Interstate 95, between Exit 341, NC-55 and Exit 334, NC-96 between Newton Grove and Benson.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and to remain alert when traveling the roadway due to expected congestion and increased traffic volume.

Areas near the river are still flooded and extreme caution should be taken if you see flood waters close to roads or property. It is still not safe to enter the waters due to continued contamination. Some roads have been washed out by these flood waters which may cause some roads to become impassible.
